Banff

Banff is in Alberta within Banff National Park. The Rocky Mountains peaks of Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade dominate the skyline. There is 6,500 square kilometres of parkland which has lots of wildlife including elk and grizzly bears

Halifax

Halifax is on the Atlantic Ocean port in eastern Canada, is the provincial capital of Nova Scotia.

We stayed at the Atlantica hotel from 20^th to 23^rd June 2009.

Jasper

Jasper is in Alberta and is an alpine town in Jasper National Park. You can see the snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. The park has glacier-fed lakes, forests and rivers.

We stayed at the Sawbridge hotel from 5^th to 8^th June 2008.

Quebec City

Québec City sits on the Saint Lawrence River in Canada’s mostly French-speaking Québec province.

We stayed at the Delta Hotel from 15^th to 19^th June 2009.

Rocky Mountaineer

We travelled on the Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Jasper leaving on the 3^rd and arriving on 4^th June 2008 with an overnight stay in Kamploops.

Toronto

Toronto is the capital of Ontario and is on the north-western shore of Lake Ontario. It’s a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic, free-standing CN Tower. 

The first time we visited we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot from 11^th to 15^th June 2009, plus a further overnight stay 22^nd June 2009. The next time was at the Fairmont Royal York from 11^th to 18^th June 2010.

On our second visit we looked at the courtyard by Marriott but found the Fairmont Royal York was 2/3rds of the price and a different class of hotel. We checked 3 separate websites as we thought that the deal was too good to be true.

Vancouver

Vancouver is a bustling west coast seaport in British Columbia. It among Canada’s densest and most ethnically diverse cities. It is surrounded by water and mountains.

The first time we visited we stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown from 31st May to 3 June 2008. The next time was at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel from 4^th to 11^th June 2010.
